Hidden Ones is a collaborative monster mythos with a host of fan-created legends built of the foundation of a indie cinematic universe—including a full-length movie!
Volume II of our CRYPTID CREATOR Lore Quest is your newest chance to make your mark on the story.
This isn’t any old writing contest. This is a collective effort to bring rich new lore into the world, empower the Hidden Ones community, and plant the seeds for the next slate of films, media, & content in the franchise.

How to Participate
CREATE A CRYPTID.
Come up with your very own original cryptid, urban legend, or supernatural phenomenon. Write a brief description or story about it—this can be as short as a sentence or as long as a short story. The most important thing is to keep it weird ;)
MAKE IT DEEPER.
Illustrations are optional, but we highly recommend creating a visual to complement your story. No knack for drawing? You can use our Discord’s Midjourney bot to pull a picture from the aether. (Note: It doesn’t matter if you’re a wordsmith, an AI wizard, or a stick figure da Vinci. The only metric for a great entry is the quality of your idea.)
SUBMIT YOUR MYTH.
Join our discord server if you haven’t already, and post your completed story + image in the “submissions” channel. That’s it—you’ve just contributed a brilliant new vision to a next-gen fandom-created movie franchise!
Deadline
The last date to submit entries to CRYPTID CREATOR Vol. II is March 7, 2023. After that, the community vote will start.
Prizes & Awards
FOUNDER’S PRIZES — each is chosen by the core team, & will be awarded with a free mint of the HIDDEN ONES: GENESIS Producer’s Edition digital comic (0.2 ETH public mint price).

COMMUNITY VOTE PRIZES
The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of $125 USD and become the main monster featured in an upcoming community-created film project.
The next top 5 voted entries will be featured in their own episodes of an upcoming Hidden Ones podcast anthology, produced in collaboration with each creator.
EVERYONE PRIZES
All creators receive an allowlist spot for the drop of the HIDDEN ONES: GENESIS digital comic.
Any creators who don't already own a CRYPTID digital collectible will be awarded one.
All entries become official Hidden Ones canon!
